Lot 1 - 16 Holmisdale 2 16 Holmisdale is situated in the community of Glendale, in the far north-west of Skye beyond Dunvegan. Glendale consists of around 150 homes spread out over an extensive area of beautiful countryside and coast extending to some 17,000 acres. Holmisdale is one of a number of small townships, similar to crofting communities, but unusual in that the properties are freehold. There are 19 properties on the Holmisdale road, so there are only three houses beyond No 16, which means that the house is quiet and secluded, with very little passing traffic. The picture above is taken from the west side of the road, showing the house and the view across the valley towards the north-east. The six acres on which the house sits run down from the road to the Hamara River at the bottom of the fields.
